Through these partnerships Isiqhamo offers the following Development Services. Isiqhamo provides training, coaching, facilitation and program management in the following support areas.
Seth Maqetuka is a Human Settlements Development Planning and Management Practioner. He holds a master’s degree in Housing Planning and Management, from University of Cape Town and an Executive Development Certificate, from University of Stellenbosch. His career spans over 35 years in all spheres of government. Seth has served as Executive Director Human Settlements in two metros, Nelson Mandela Bay metro and City of Cape Town. Before his tenure as Executive Director, he has fulfilled responsibilities including National Director Capacity Building with National Department of Human Settlements and Chief Director Housing with Western Cape Human Settlements Department.
Seth is presently Human Settlements Specialist consultant with National Treasury Cities Support Programme. In this role he is providing capacity and technical programmatic and policy support to the eight metropolitan municipalities and national department of human settlements. He is at the same time the City Advisor for the City of Ekurhuleni. Seth also serves as Non-Executive Director with the Board of Habitat for Humanity of South Africa and UTshani Fund who are an affiliate to Slum Dwellers International. Some of the key achievements of Seth has been the successful facilitation of the Presidential Integrated Serviced Land Project in the Western Cape that delivered more than 30 000 housing opportunities and social and economic amenities in the early1990s: pioneering the People Housing Process in Khayelitsha and environs in the late 1990s. Initiating and implementing the Housing Turnaround Plan for Nelson Mandela Bay Metro in themid-2000s and Developing the City of Cape Town Urbanization Framework to deal with growth and informality ,and Human Settlements Strategic Plan. Coordinating development of a City-Wide Programmatic Upgrading Toolkit that has been applied in all the eight metros to strengthen their capacity.
